Thame skipper Rob Brooks was rueing his decision to bat first after his side had much the worse end of a draw in the Division 2 West game at Burnham.
It was certainly a game of two halves as the pitch, though lively with the new ball, went rather flat only to become very challenging to bat on after tea. Earlier, Thame seamers Luke Merry and Sam Lachlan beat the bat consistently as Burnham progressed to 90-3 at lunch.
After the break Thame eventually turned to new signing Seetal Patel, who bowled well into a strong wind showing great variation and determination to finish with 5-71.
Burnham, however, still reached a very creditable total of 230-9 with most of the batsmen contributing.
In reply, Thame suffered two early setbacks as they set after what proved to be a huge total on a pitch taking that came to life with the introduction of the new ball.
Accurate spells from Fazal and Butt put pressure on the Thame, as the target vanished into the distance They decided to play for a ‘Thame’ draw and finished at 133-6 after 50 overs.
