TOP Danish international Niels-Kristian Iversen will ride for Oxford Cheetahs in the four team tournament at Swindon on July 30, writes ROBERT PEASLEY.
He is the second big name to agree to ride for the homeless Cheetahs, following in the tyre tracks of Polish Champion Adam Skornicki, who was named last week.
Iversen has twice won the Speedway World Cup with Denmark in recent years. The quiet 26-year-old spent three years riding for Oxford between 2003 and 2005.
He made rapid progress through the team’s ranks and held down the third heat leader spot in 2005, behind the American duo of Greg Hancock and Billy Hamill. Meeting organiser Gary Patchett said: “Niels-Kristian is a proven performer, and his inclusion, alongside Adam Skornicki, provides the Cheetahs with a strong side.”
