Oxfordshire Under 14s got their season up and running with a hard-fought draw against Dorset.
Batting first, Dorset got off to a poor start as Musaleen Sadiqi cleaned out the openers.
But a superb stand between Mike Porter and Rich Scott carried the home side to 138-2, before both were run out by direct hits from Luke Finch and Sasha Barras respectively.
Curtly Slatter shone with the ball, taking three wickets in a superb spell as Dorset were bowled out for 206, Connor Williams also getting three wickets.
Oxon found the going tough in their reply against some tight bowling.
Adam Muttitt held the innings together as wickets fell regularly at the other end.
Skipper Barras and Finch put on 25 for the last wicket as Oxon clung on for a draw.
