Three Bicester members aced the same hole in the space of three days.

The remarkable sequence saw club champion Mark Horseman, a five handicapper, and Daniel Brain, who plays off ten, hit holes in one at the par-three eighth on Sunday.

These came during Bicester’s traditional Ox Match against Kirtlington.

Then on Tuesday, 21-handicapper Bernard Smith repeated the trick in Bicester’s Monthly Medal.

For good measure, Smith’s playing partner, Colin Edgar, saw his tee shot on the eighth finish two feet from the 125-yard hole, giving him a tap-in for birdie.

Bicester press secretary Stewart Church said: “It is not an easy hole. It is like a table top on a mountain.

“Three aces in the space of three days is quite an achievement.

“I was playing in the medal and I heard the roar when Bernard’s shot went in.”

Last summer, two Frilford Heath members, Pat Dale and Pat Lacy, both aced the same hole, while playing each other, but this hat-trick seems unpredecented in local golf.
