OCA League Divisions 1-4

Sixteen-year-old Charlie Fisher was the star of the show as Witney Swifts won their Division 3 clash against Kings Sutton by 162 runs on Sunday.

Fisher smashed 116, with Alan Williams scoring 77 as Swifts rattled up 297-7.

It was then down to 17-year-old spinner Graeme Woodward to rip through the Kings Sutton order, as he claimed 5-41 as the visitors were dismissed for just 135.

Stuart Walton hit 110 not out as Broughton & North Newington beat Oxenford by 23 runs on Saturday.

Walton and Neil Mepham (95) saw Broughton to 304-3.

In reply, Oxenford’s Phil Glenn scored 126 as his team got close, but finished short on 281-9.

Broughton were again in action on Sunday as they rattled up 275-5 against Radley.

James Tilcock top-scored with 96, before Andy Parsons took 4-50 as Radley were bowled out for 136.

A 101-run third-wicket stand between Tim Wyatt (92) and Tom Gubbins helped Stonesfield to 197 all out against West Ilsley.

West Ilsley then fell to 125 all out and a 72-run defeat, Dan Sherbourne taking 3-17.

Nick Giles hit 118 to help Marcham to a six-wicket victory at Charlbury in Division 1.

Charlbury’s Ashley Rump scored 123 as they posted 235-6.

But Marcham’s powerhouse batting performance saw them home at 236-4 with more than five overs to spare, Eddie Howard chipping in with 56.

Tetsworth beat Freeland by four wickets.

Having restricted their visitors to 190-8, Rommel Foster taking 3-32, Tetsworth reached 191-6, thanks to 55 from Rolando Wright.

Shrivenham surprised Westbury with a 77-run victory.

Danny Lloyd (67no) and Mark Whale (45) helped Shrivenham to 196-7, before Adam Tucker returned superb figures of 6-11 as Westbury were shot out for 119, with no fewer than five ducks in their innings.

In Division 2, Minster Lovell edged to an 18-run win at East & West Hendred.

They were indebted to Matt Green (47no) and Chris Morgan (43) as they reached 196 all out.

Morgan then claimed 4-52 and Lyndsay Halliwell 3-38 as Hendred were restricted to 178-9.

Faringdon beat Watlington by 88 runs.

Ian Oglesby (57no) helped Faringdon to 163-8, before Watlington were shot out for 75, Nick Babcock taking 4-27.

In Division 4, Brill crushed Britwell Sal-ome by ten wickets.

Darren Kavanagh (3-19) and Ian Smith (3-40) combined as Britwell were dismissed for 129, before Steve Shipperley (72no) and John Fitsell (42no) saw Brill to victory.

Charlbury 2nd posted a thrilling four-run win at Deddington.

Ajit Shah (97) and Tom Nash (63) helped Charlbury to 230-4.

Deddington got off to a great start in their reply, with Ramesh Chennagiri hitting 78, Steve Welch 46 and Dennis Faulkner 36, but they finished short at 227-6.

East Oxford 2nd eased to an 84-run win at home to Combe.

Atif Liaqat hit 63 in East Oxford’s 228-7, before Combe were bowled out for 144, Ejaz Sarwar taking 4-32.

Ashley Green took 5-21, but finished on the losing side as Oxford Rescue beat Uffington by 66 runs.
