New Aston Rowant skipper Wesley Morrick turned in a brilliant all-round display, but his side still came within a whisker of defeat in their Division 2 West match at home to Falkland on Saturday.
First Morrick (pictured) returned figures of 5-45 with his seamers to restrict Falkland to 174 al out in 54 overs.
That total would have been much smaller but for a battling 75 from Tom Heath.
Morrick )then scored 55, but all Rowant’s other batsman struggled, and they were left hanging on for a draw at 143-9.
