Bradley Smith called into the Oxford Mail offices yesterday – and was surprised when sports editor Mark Edwards presented him with a framed memento, highlighting his maiden Grand Prix victory.
Smith admits he has been overwhelmed with the reaction to his success in Jerez on Sunday – but is determined to keep his feet on the ground and simply trying to focus on the next race in Le Mans next week.
“It has been a bit of a mad week, and all gone really quickly,” he said.
“So many people have said to me that they saw the race which is great, and let’s just hope it’s the first of many.”
Smith spent yesterday visiting many of his local sponsors, but being the ultimate professional, was in the swimming pool at 6.30am to ensure he kept himself in tip-top shape!
