Tennis players in Didcot are celebrating following the opening of new courts.
Three courts and a multi use games area, costing £94,000, have been set up in Ladygrove Park.
Funding for the project was provided by the National Lottery, South Oxfordshire District Council and the town council.
Town mayor Tony Harbour and district council chairman Colin Daukes opened the new facilities.
Harbour said: “I hope with these new courts Didcot will produce the next Tim Henman who will go on to win Wimbledon.”
The new facilities followed a recreational survey and public consultation in Ladygrove.
On top of the public’s wish list were tennis courts and a hard court for sports including netball and basketball.
Since completion the site has been really busy, said Harbour.
He added: “I did not realise how many people in Didcot played tennis.
“I hope it will encourage more people to use the facilities.”
