Caitie Burton scored a superb half century as Oxfordshire Under 15s kicked off their ECB Girls County Championship campaign with a 148-run victory over Wiltshire at Tiddington.
Oxon won the toss and had no hesitation in batting first.
And although losing Rose Beck early, a stand of 59 between Katie Isle and Burton put Oxon in charge.
Captain Emilia Burton chipped in with 30, although when she was out with the score on 141, the innings fell away slightly.
But with Burton carrying her bat for 58 not out, Oxon’s final total was 182-7.
Pick of the Wiltshire bowling was India Newman, whose accurate swing bowling yielded four wickets.
Wiltshire’s openers briefly looked promising, but it did not last as the they fell to just 34 all out, Linsey Smith taking 3-6.
