Promoted Aston Rowant have big hopes for the new Division 2 West season, according to new captain Wes Morrick.
The South African-born all-rounder said: “We are really excited to be back in the league.
“We will not only be hoping to stay up this time around, but also to rally for the league title in 2009.”
Rowant have lost former captain Simon Bird to High Wycombe, but their recruits include Tim Miles, a Western Australia Under 19 all-rounder, and Rory Lyon, a talented young spinner from Bicester.
Morrick is tipping young swing bowler Peter Nailor for success.
“He has given up his pub life to take cricket seriously again,” said Morrick.
IN: Tim Miles (all-rounder, Western Australia Under 19), Rory Lyon (spinner, Bicester & North Oxford).
OUT: Simon Bird (seamer, High Wycombe).
ONE TO WATCH: Peter Nailor.
IF NOT YOU, WHO WILL WIN THE LEAGUE? Morrick simply wished all teams “the best of luck”
