North Oxford’s Lee Jackson has qualified for the Glenmuir PGA Pro Championship – the flagship event for Britain and Ireland’s top club professionals.
Jackson shot a two-under-par 70 at Hadley Wood, Barnet, to finish one shot behind joint winners Peter Cherry (Ashridge) and Andy Hurley (Arkley) at the east region qualifier.
He will now play in the £78,000 four-round Glenmuir final at Dundonald Links, near Troon, Ayrshire, from June 16-19.
The ten-man team to play the United States in the 24th PGA Cup, the club professionals’ version of the Ryder Cup, will be based largely on results achieved at Dundonald Links.
That tournament is also being played in Scotland, at The Carrick on Loch Lomond in September.
