Radley finished second in their first National Young Athletes League meeting at Uxbridge.
Highlight of the day came from under 13 Christian von Eitzen, who clocked a club record of 4mins 46.6secs in the 1500m.
Megan Humphreys (under 13) shone in the girls’ 800m with a personal best of 2.30.9.
Elsewhere, Georgina Sunderland also did the under 13s proud, clocking a personal best of 10.8 in the 75m and equalling her best in the 70m hurdles in 12.2.
Under 15 girl Kim Sutherland recorded 27.5, while Emma O’Hara threw 10.73m to win the shot.
In the under 17 girls’ section, Susan Keet recorded 26.6 in the 200m, while Andrew Potter clocked 23.5 in the under 17 boys’ 200m.
Jordan Dorrian (under 15) ran personal bests of 25.2 and 12.2 in the 200m and 100m respectively, and leapt 5.19m in the long jump.
Result: 1 Hillingdon 450pts, 2 Radley 371, 3 Ealing 300½, 4 Salisbury C Bath 151½.
- OXFORD City also settled for the runners-up spot in their opening match of the season at Bournemouth.
Highlights of the day came from Rebecca Hill, who finished second in the under 17 women’s 300m hurdles in 52.4.
Rebecca Hussey won the 100m, 200m and 300m, breaking the club record in the 300m with 41.7.
The majority of the under 13 girls were competing for the first time, and two of the youngest members, Elisha Evans and Storm Sunderland, produced encouraging performances in the 800m and 1200m respectively.
In the boys’ competition, Matthew Gain collected personal bests in the 100m and 200m, clocking 12.9 and 25.9 respectively.
Result: 1 Bournemouth & Poole 388pts, 2 Oxford City 356, 3 Bracknell 311, 4 Kingston & Polytechnic 1481/2.
- THERE were some superb performances from Bicester & Banbury in their South West Division 1 match at Winchester.
In the under 15 boys’ event, Freddie Curtis set a new club record in the javelin with a magnificent throw of 47.73m.
He also secured victory in the shot (8.89m).
Jackson Curtis was also in splendid form as he won the under 17 javelin with 48.91m.
He also set a new club age record in the 100m (11.6secs).
James Wright starred with victories in the long jump, triple jump and 200m.
Wright’s winning leap of 14.19m in the triple jump puts him second in the UK rankings for under 17 boys.
Elsewhere, under 13 boy Tom Bosher was in fine form, winning the high jump with 1.62m, which tops the national rankings for his age group.
Bosher also took the long jump (4.79m) and shot (9.02m).
Jonah Sweeney was an impressive winner in the 75m hurdles, sweeping to victory in 14.1.
In the girls’ events, Rosie Kingston won the under 17 80m hurdles in 12.8.
Megan Davies set a club record of 23.54m in the under 15 discus.
Kelly Best also recorded a club record as she won the under 13 shot in 7.04m.
