Oxford trainer Michael Peterson has been fined £600 and severely reprimanded following the misuse of the drug Procaine with the greyhound Arco Grace.
Peterson did not attend the hearing and the stewards having considered his explanation together with the circumstances of the case, found that he administered a substance that could affect the performance or well being of the greyhound falling foul of rules 174 (i),(b) and 217.
The racing office has ordered a third trial on Lahana Sparkle after leaving them in a real dilemma.
Sparkle was ordered to retrial after a poor run in 28.46. He then posted a 27.26, which was exceptional.
Not satisfied, they ordered another trial, and this time clocked 27.96 leaving them with no option but to call another trial. How could you grade a dog like that?
There are no trials on Monday due to the bank holiday.
