Teenager Patrick Lay, from Bampton, near Witney, has made a fine start to his Junior Easykart UK Championship campaign.
After the first two rounds of the championship, Lay is joint leader in the standings.
He began the season with victory at Daventry last month, and on Sunday, his second round in Llandow, South Wales, saw him battle through the field in the final race to grab third place.
Lay qualified for the pre-final in third, but a heavy shower just before the start meant Lay had a decision to make on tyre type.
He opted for wets, which proved the right option as he took an early lead.
But an error on lap 11 meant he was penalised by one lap for the final race of the day.
Starting in 16th in dry conditions, Lay battled through the field to finish third.
Lay said: “The next two races are on some of my favourite circuits, so I hope to extend my lead at the top.
“There’s a long way to go in the championship, but I’m not going to give up until I have won the championship.”
Meanwhile, Lay is on the lookout for new sponsors.
