Plans are well under way to mark Oxford RFC’s centenary in the 2009-10 season.
The club, who were founded in 1909 are putting on a series of events, starting with a mini and junior fun day on September 20.
Oxford’s first match was against St Edward’s School in October 1909 and an academy side will take on the same opponents under floodlights on October 6.
The club are introducing a centenary tie and their own red and white wines.
Discussions are also taking place for the club to wear shirts based on the original designs.
There will be a celebration dinner at St Edmund Hall on September 25 with Ollie Waldron (ex-Oxford University and Ireland) and Geoff Windsor-Lewis (ex-Oxford and Wales) the speakers.
