Truro City 2 (Ash 45, Watkins 80)

Didcot Tn 4 (Parrott 19, King 20, Bartley 23, Osbourne-Ricketts 43)

A stunning display from Didcot saw them end the regular season with a convincing victory in Division 1 South & West.

The home side thought they had taken a tenth-minute lead when the ball was forced home by Andy Watkins, but the effort was ruled out for offside.

But Didcot, already assured of a play-off place, went in front when Paul Powell’s corner was met by Andy Parrott, and he headed past Dan Stevenson.

The visitors doubled their lead when Jack King side-footed home The goal celebrations had barely finished when Didcot grabbed a third.

This time it was Josh Dutton-Black who created the opening for Michael Bartley, who shot past Stevenson.

Didcot went 4-0 up two minutes before the break when King’s free-kick was blocked by the defensive wall, and Elliott Osbourne-Ricketts struck home the rebound.

An off-the-ball incident ended with Truro’s Martin Watts lying on the ground.

After deliberation with his assistant, the referee showed Bartley a red card.

To make matters worse, Jake Ash headed home a corner to reduce the arrears.

With ten men, Didcot weathered an early onslaught after the break.

The referee gifted the home side a penalty after a collision between Jamie Heapy and Stewart Yetton in box.

But Yetton’s spot-kick was tipped over by Didcot’s Australian keeper Matt Trott.

Truro reduced the deficit when Watkins headed home at the far post, but Didcot held on.

Didcot travel to Windsor & Eton tomorrow for their play-off, which kicks off at 7.45pm.
