MICK Bennett (Fieldside) broke a 26-year duck as he won three trophies in a week in the Gentworks Oxford & District League, writes DAVID WHITE.
Bennett won the Arthur Goodwin Handicap Cup at his 26th attempt after seeing off Paul Evans (Thame) 2-0 in the final at Witney.
He had earlier landed the Sherman Pairs title after teaming up with clubmate Mike Russell, whom he then beat to lift the Ted Allsop Memorial Cup for over 50s!
Bennett made breaks of 20 and 28 to seal the opening frame in the Arthur Goodwin Cup, with Evans compiling a 24, then clinched the second 75-24.
In the Sherman Pairs, Bennett and Russell dug in to pip fellow Fieldside players Paul Robinson and Karl Walker.
Bennett and Russell took the first frame 67-41 and the second 77-34 to leave Robinson and Walker having to win the final frame 70 points.
They led by 59 points at one stage, but Russell potted pink and black to win the match.
Bennett won the opening frame of the Ted Allsop Memorial Cup final 47-23 and after a break of 34 in the second he looked well in command.
Russell hit back with breaks of 27 and 14, but Bennett sealed it on the black.
