There was a double success for City of Oxford’s junior scullers Cloudy Carnegie and and Sian Morgan last weekend.

On Saturday, the City duo won the J16 double sculls at the junior inter-regional regatta at Nottingham.

Another City rower Shannen King, who stepped into the J15 singles event at short notice, was fifth in her final.

Carnegie and Morgan continued their success by winning the junior women’s doubles at the Abingdon Head the following day.

They then joined Chloe Seal and Bess Drohan and cox Floss Smith to win junior women’s fours and the Milton Challenge Cup for the fastest women’s junior crew.

City’s Holly Holden, who trained with the GB junior squad during the week, won the junior women’s 18 singles.

As the fastest female sculler, she won the Fred Hart Memorial Trophy.

Holden won the junior women’s 18 doubles with Connie Taylor.

City wins also came from Reece Taylor (J14 singles), and Henry Drohan (J15 singles). They teamed up to to win J15 doubles.

Ben Seers and Sholto Carnegie cruised to victory in J14 doubles.

In her first race, Freya Dale, 12, landed the junior women’s 14 singles Wallingford’s Conor Marsh and Mike Murray won the J18 double sculls in the fastest junior time of the day.

Tom Ajose and Ed Hares took the J16 double sculls, while Jamie Axon, racing in J16 single sculls, was the third fastest sculler overall.
