BANBURY Cricket Club are bringing Oxfordshire its first disability cricket sessions through the aid of the Lottery distributor ‘Awards for All’.
The initiative came from Oxford Brookes University student Luke Ryan who gained the funding in order to provide disabled cricket in schools in the area for the first time.
The 20-year-old Banbury cricketer gained funding through ‘Awards for All’ as part of his university degree to carry out a project in Oxfordshire for disability cricket.
Banbury Cricket Club are now going to visit a number of schools around the county, providing regular training.
Banbury will then host a tournament on Sunday, May 26.
They will also provide cricket training for those with disabilities every fortnight at their White Post Road ground.
