Division 1 side Oxford Downs crashed to an embarrassing defeat at the hands of Division 6 outfit Brackley in the first round of the inaugural 45-over Oxford Times Cherwell Leafgue Senior Cup on Saturday.
Downs could muster only 134 before being bowled out in the 33rd over, as Matt Corns took 3-8 and Keith Cartwright 3-19.
The home side had to fight hard in pursuit of the target and eventually prevailed in the 45th over, with James Timmis 58 not out.
Veteran left-arm spinner Shaun Miller produced the individual performance of the day, taking 5-17 as Shipton-under-Wychwood brushed aside Witney Mills.
Only Duncan Sellman (43no) had any answer to Miller's wiles, but he ran out of partners as his side were all out for 104.
Paul Hemming then held together the opening stages of Shipton's reply, and after he went for 34, Paul Jennings (36no) saw them home for the loss of four wickets.
A fine all-round display by Matthew Maule saw Tiddington to a five-wicket win over Cropredy.
Maule took 4-43 to help bowl out the hosts for 148, of which Richard Lynch contributed 48, before top-scoring with 30 as Tiddington reached 151-5 in the 35th over.
Cropredy did not help themselves by dishing up 32 wides.
The all-third division clash between Kingston Bagpuize and Leighton Buzzard Town ended in a comfortable win for the visitors.
Kingston openers Mario Cecchini (68) and Dave Pearce (65) gave their side a good start after they were asked to bat, but the innings fell away and they closed on 179-8.
Young Jack Kempster then scored an impressive 60 before Chris Thompson's 41 not out sealed victory by five wickets.
Abingdon Vale racked up the highest score of the day, posting 228 at home to last year's Division 4 champions Twyford.
Nick Rivett hit 51 and Will Barker 43 not out as only James Heslington (3-47) exercised much control.
Vale's Paul White then took 4-32 as the visitors slumped to 96 all out.
Cumnor's young off spinner Umair Ghazali took 4-15 to set up a four-wicket win at Sandford St Martin.
The home side had got off to a decent start thanks to Chas Taylor (45) and Will Bartholomew (35) before Ghazali reduced them to 186.
Shahbaz Alam then struck 57 and Afghan Ali Morteza a quickfire unbeaten 90 to take Cumnor to 187-6 with plenty of overs to spare.
Great & Little Tew won only twice while being relegated from Division 1 in 2008, but had little trouble beating Division 6 Didcot.
Rob Garrett led the way with 62 in Tew's 195-7, then Rob Wilson-Fry took 4-15 as Didcot could manage only 139 all out in reply.
Banbury 2nd were always in command at Bledlow Ridge once they had scored an imposing 219-5 from 41 overs.
Ridge paid the price for their slow over rate before tea as they had only 37 overs in reply, during which they compiled 159-2.
Challow & Childrey had a walkover against Oxford 2nd, as did Bourton Vale over Morris Motors Exiles.
Postponed: Princes Risborough v Buckingham Tn, Bletchley Tn v Bledlow Village, Chearsley v Oxford & Bletch Nondies, Horspath v Great Brickhill, Long Marston v Hanborough. Matches to be played this Saturday Bye: Banbury Twenty.
