l A Brackley Town Old Boys team will host a Banbury United Old Boys on Friday, May 1 at St James Park, to raise money for Hook Norton player-manager Karlton Stratford, who suffered a badly-broken leg last month.

Stratford, a self-employed courier driver, who played at Banbury and Brackley, broke the tibia and fibula in his left leg during their Premier Division game against Milton United on March 31.

Former Hooky player Garnet Thomas, who is now club secretary, is to play in the benefit match.

He said: “It was a nasty one. He’s going to be off work for four to five months. We just want to raise as much money as we can.”
