The Football Conference have begun an inquiry into why Oxford United’s Easter Monday game at Woking was delayed by an hour.

Chris Bird, a spokesman for the Football Conference, said: “Dennis Strudwick, the general manager of the Conference, is looking into the delayed start.

“There will be an inquiry into Woking’s ticketing arrangements and any liaison they had with Oxford with regard to the anticipated travelling support.”

Peter Jordan, Woking’s operation director, said: “We did not underestimate the crowd.”
