Hadden Hill’s Luke Williams won the Berks, Bucks & Oxon Junior Championship at Mill Ride, Berkshire.
Williams led with a 71 in the first round and followed it with a 74 to force a three-hole play-off with Tyrrell Hatton of Harleyford.
Tadmarton Heath’s Steven O’Connor took third on countback from Magnolia Park’sSandy Bolton after both finished on 149 In the play-off, Williams, who plays off a two handicap, went birdie, eagle, bogey to clinch this prestigous title.
Williams, whose handicap was cut from two to one after the tournament, said: “The highlight was to win an exciting play off.
“My next aim is to get down to scratch and win the men’s BB&O championship.”
Frilford Heath’s Robert Harrhy won the best morning scratch prize for his round of 75, while The Wychwood’s Rob Knight was join 11th on 157.
Meanwhile, TV commentator Peter Alliss is to open a new £250,000 par-three golf course at Hadden Hill.
Allis, who works for the BBC and ABC in the USA will perform the honours on Thursday, May 7.
The ‘voice of golf’ played in eight Ryder Cups and won 21 PGA tournaments worldwide, including three consecutive European Tour Events.
Hadden Hill’s new facility has holes varying in length from 110 to 170 yards and has sufficient drainage to allow for year-round play.
The course was partially funded by Sport/Golf England and officials hope it will draw many new players to the game.
