Henley Hawks’ director of rugby Jason Forster could not hide his anger after their dismal 29-12 defeat at lowly Bridgwater & Albion in National 3 South.
Forster blasted: “To say I was bitterly disappointed with the way we played is an understatement. Most of the side were not worthy of wearing the Hawks' shirt.
“They were uncommitted and I was very surprised that some players, given an opportunity to play themselves into a contract for next season, failed to perform.”
Hawks, who were missing influential back row duo Matt Payne and Stean Williams, conceded a try to Bridgwater skipper and No 8 Ben Purcell in the first minute.
Fly half Luke Cozens converted this and a second try from lock Steve Hunt, while Henley hit back with wing Dave Birtwhistle going over.
Cozens made it 17-5 at the break with a penalty before Henley centre Angelo Flammia notched a try, converted by Danny Wells.
A brace of tries from former Henley man Matt Britton and a Cozens conversion sealed the full five points for Bridgwater.
