Prospective members will be able to view “one of the most eagerly-awaited new golf courses in England” at two official open days.

That is how Heythrop Park, near Chipping Norton, is being billed ahead of the events on April 25 and 26.

The 7,156-yard course at the Heythrop Park Hotel, Golf and Country Club opens in September, set in 440 acres of 18th- century landscape.

Heythrop is the handiwork of Tom Mackenzie, of the internationally-renowned golf course architects, Mackenzie & Ebert.

The open days will showcase the course, clubhouse, plus a health and fitness club.

Only a limited number of 400 memberships will be made available.

Interested parties are invited to contact the club’s membership department on 01608 673621 to arrange a visit.

SCOTT Marshall won the BB&O PGA Spring Classic at Chipping Norton after edging out two local players.

The Lambourn professional shot an excellent three-under-par 68 in blustery conditions, to finish two shots ahead of second-placed Matt Kimber (North Oxford).
