OXFORD United have insisted again that James Constable will be their player next season, despite reports from Shrosphire that Shrewsbury manager Paul Simpson isn't happy with the situation.

The U's say they do not want to make any further comment.

But they are confident that the agreement they have with both the Shrews and the player will take effect in the summer after Constable agreed a new three-year deal last Friday.

Constable has been on a season-long loan to Oxford from Shrewsbury and has been in devastating form for the U’s, scoring 24 goals this campaign.
