A brave fightback by Harwell Village could not prevent Faringdon reaching the North Berks League Charity Cup final with a 3-2 victory, writes Andy Wells.

Two goals midway through the first half of their semi-final from Seb Kolodzaeczyk and Darryl Pugh gave Faringdon the half-time lead.

A minute after the break, Derren Harrington made it 3-0, and Harwell looked doomed.

John Willis and Ross Butler reduced the deficit, but could not find an equaliser.

In the final, Faringdon will meet Saxton Rovers, who beat Drayton 6-1.

Saxton took a 2-0 interval lead through James Clarke's header and Michael Beale's shot.

Drayton clawed one back through Bradley Ritchie.

However, the goal brought Rovers to life and they added further strikes from Chris Hooper, Beale and subs Danny Ferguson and Steve Pitson.

Division 2 leaders Warborough & Shillingford boosted their goal difference with a 5-0 home win over Coleshill United, with goals from Ross Tabor (3) and Adam Oram (2).

Second-placed Didcot Cas-uals remain three points behind with a game in hand, after a 4-0 win over East Hendred, with Lee Newport, Liam Corrigan, Johnny Pearce and Danny Lawton on target.

Marcham stayed on the promotion track, with a 1-0 win ag-ainst Saxton Rovers Res, Will Westall the scorer.

Wootton & Dry Sandford Res lost 4-1 to Division 3 leaders Botley United, with doubles from Kevin Cooper and Andy Potter.

Childrey United stayed in touch with a 7-1 win over Ardington & Lockinge Res.

Tom Weeks bagged a treble, with others goals from, Alan Haines (2), James Wilkins and Danny Cannings.

Drayton Res beat Grove Rangers 5-4, with Paul Empson (3), Kevin Kogel and Ian Oram on target.

Long Wittenham Athletic saw off Benson Lions 3-1 with strikes from Andy Dix and Tim Barton and an own-goal making their tally.

Kevin Edwards made it 13 goals from 11 games with a hat-trick in Uffington United’s 4-2 home win over Challow United in Division 4.

Devon Bryan got the other, with Kevin Pryde and Eamonn McGowan netted for Challow.
