Tom Conway starred as Abingdon United posted two away wins in the space of three days in the Youth Conference League with a 2-1 victory at St Albans followed by a 3-0 triumph at Wycombe.

Conway fired Abingdon into a fifth-minute lead against St Albans after good work by Lewis Brown and Matty Midwinter.

And he doubled their advantage just before the break, stabbing the ball home at the far post from Pablo Haysham’s cross.

St Albans pulled a goal back midway through the second half, but Abingdon held out for victory.

Conway led the way again against Wycombe with a speculative 35-yard drive in the fourth minute, which the keeper seemed to have covered only for it to dip inside the post.

Abingdon went further ahead in the 15th minute when Luke Carnell flicked on Conway’s throw for Jason Bauer to smash a shot home from 12 yards.

Victory was sealed 15 minutes from time when Rob Johnson was brought down in the box, and Jack Longford smashed home the penalty.
