ST Andrew’s captured their fourth trophy this season with a 1-0 win over Headington rivals Windmill in the Debt Dr Oxford United Under 11 five-a-side final at the Kassam Stadium.

Max Jones grabbed St Andrew’s winner in the second half, pouncing on a rebound after Sami Khawaja’s shot had been parried by the keeper following a great passing move involving Sam Weitzel and David Vickers.

The two teams then shared a lap of honour in front of a crowd of almost 6,500, who had assembled for United’s dramatic 2-1 win against Histon in the Blue Square Premier.

St Andrew’s latest piece of silverware came after they won the Oxford City and the Oxfordshire competitions in the ESFA Schools’ Cup, plus the Oxford City open seven-a-side cup.

  • OLIVER Thomas scored twice as St Birinus (Didcot) lifted the Vale of White Horse Under 13 Cup with a 4-1 win over Gillotts (Henley) in the final at Letcombe FC.

Chris Hewitt and Sam McDermaid also netted for St Birinus, with Gillotts’ lone reply coming from an own goal.
