Nick Sevier grabbed a hat-trick of tries as Oxford Harlequins stormed to a 45-10 victory at Coney Hill in South West 1.
Wing Sevier jinked his way over for Quins’ opening try on six minutes after good work from full back Huw Jones.
Prop Peter Boulton, debutant flanker Jonathan Olley and No 8 Ben Nicholl were impressing up front, but centre Anthony Cope ran in try No 2 from half-way, with fly half Mark Forth converting.
Coney Hill hit back with a try from fly half Rob Barnet on 27 minutes.
Long breaks from skipper Simon Chadbone and Jones went unrewarded before the latter set up Sevier for his second try just before the break.
Coney Hill full back Martin Knight squeezed over to make it 17-10, but the rest of the second half was all Quins.
Sevier completed his treble on 56 minutes, with Jones again setting him up, and Forth converted.
Olley burst out of a maul to run in a fine try from 35 metres, which Forth converted for 31-10.
Replacement wing Ollie Campbell then lived up to his ‘poacher’ nickname with two late tries, both converted by Forth, to complete the rout.
