Oxford United chairman Kelvin Thomas has poured cold water on a story that Shrewsbury believe James Constable will remain with them next season.
"We have an agreement with Shrewsbury and with James himself, " insisted Thomas. "I have spoken to their chief exec and everything is in order."
Constable signed an agreement late on Friday turning his season-long loan from the Shrews to Oxford United into a new three-year deal, which takes effect from the summer.
But on Monday it was claimed that Shrewsbury boss Paul Simpson said Constable would continue to be their player next season.
