Bartholomew School, Eynsham, received their trophy from England’s World Cup-winning captain Charlotte Edwards after being crowned Oxfordshire champions in the Lady Taverners Under 13 indoor eight-a-side competition.

They beat Warriner (Bloxham) 53-38 in the final at Blackbird Leys Leisure Centre after winning all their group games.

Now they go forward to the south regional finals at Bristol on Thursday, April 23.

It completed an Oxfordshire double for Bartholomew after their under 15 girls won the county final last month.

They are in the regional finals, also at Bristol on Friday, April 24.

Meanwhile, Edwards will be taking coaching sessions at Oxford CC during this month and in May.

It forms part of the club’s ‘Chance to Shine’ project, which Oxford are running as a hub club for the development of girls and women’s cricket in Oxfordshire.
