Bob Baker returns to bolster Chinnor’s front row as they host Lydney in tomorrow’s crunch National 3 South clash at Kingsey Road (3).

The 19-year-old prop, who started for Wasps last Sunday, will look to bring his top-flight experience to bear against Chinnor’s relegation rivals.

And victory tomorrow will go some way to securing the Thame club’s status in the division for next year.

Chinnor coach Jason Bowers said: “Bob is definitely back with us this weekend.

“It is great news that he had a run out in the Premiership.

“This is an opportunity for him to put some of his experience to use for us.”

Back-row forward Dave Jackson returns to the squad after a groin injury, and could challenge Harry Jackman for the No 8 berth.

Fellow forward Robin Fenwick steps up from the seconds, while Chinnor should field the same back line that won at Havant last week.

Bowers added: “Some games are a little more important than others.

“This one has some pressure riding on it for both teams. A win would put us in a great position to stay up.”

With James Gaunt away on school duties, Jack Shaylor moves to scrum half as Henley Hawks host Rugby Lions.

Will Fulton starts at fly half as Charlie Hobart is now concentrating on his final exams at Oxford Brookes.

Utility back Tommy Haynes comes into the squad, while lock Steve Green is pushing for a start after coming off the bench at Lydney last week.

Rugby Lions may be a wounded animal after losing 85-3 at London Scottish in their last match!

Andy Noyce drops to the bench as Oxford Harlequins host Old Patesians in South West 1, despite his hat-trick of tries in their Oxfordshire Cup defeat of Chipping Norton.

Nick Sevier moves to the wing to replace Noyce, with Huw Jones returning at full back.

Hooker Jack Rudman replaces the injured Dave Needham, while veteran prop Paul DeLange comes in as a replacement.

Coach John Brodley said: “We have a settled side and Paul DeLange will add experience to the forwards.”

In South West 2 East, Wallingford’s home clash with Henley Wanderers will see the battle of the Chapman brothers.

Mike Chapman starts at flanker for Wallingford, while his brother Matt, who left Wallingford earlier this season, is expected to be in the Wanderers’ back row.

Wallingford coach Chris Norrington said: “It is the big talking point among the lads, but I want to play it down.

“It will just add a little extra something to the game. We mustn’t get too distracted.”

Scrum half Derek Viljoen will captain the side, while regular skipper Kris Blaszko, wing Richard Turner and full back Henry Venners should be on the bench after injuries.

Witney recall lock Charlie Bennett as they look to bounce back from their Oxon Cup with a visit Southern Counties North leaders Buckingham.
