Radley's under 15 sports-hall athlete Joe Bibby retained his UK speed bounce title in the national championships at the NEC in Birmingham.

In his final competition before hanging up his sportshall trainers, Bibby produced 94 bounces in 30 seconds to take the gold medal.

Bibby’s names will now be added to the history books alongside Commonwealth Games heptathlon champion Kelly Sotherton, who tasted Sportshall success in 1992.

Bibby said: “I won this competition last year, and it would have been nice to go back next year to make it three times in a row, but I’ll be too old.

“I would have liked to have broken the record, but I’m really happy to have won.”

WHITE Horse Harrier Paul Jegou finished the cross-country season on a high note with overall victory in the Wessex League.

Jegou, who finished consistently in the top three places, was third in Sunday's final race at Avon Heath Country Park near Ringwood, Dorset.

His time of 33mins 50secs ensured victory in the senior men's category.

OXFORD City’s over 60s took the silver medal at the Britsh Masters Cross Country Championships in Ruthin, North Wales.

The trio of Roy Treadwell, Allan Matthews and Dave Parsons were all carry injuries, but finished second behind Rotherham.

Treadwell posted the fastest time for City, crossing the line in 34mins 03secs.
