Elliott O’Brien smashed a hat-trick as Horspath boosted their Oxfordshire Senior League Premier Division title hopes with a 4-1 win at home to leaders Bletchingdon.

They are now just a point off the top and have four games in hand over Bletchingdon, who lead on goal difference from Garsington, who have played the same number of games as Horspath.

Jordan Reid was Horspath’s other scorer, with a stunning 25-yard shot, while Lee Kilpin netted Bletchingdon’s goal.

Fourth-placed Rover Cowley kept their slim title hopes alive as they came from behind to win 3-2 at Chadlington.

Lee Keyes fired Chadlington ahead, despite looking offside, before Steve Walsh levelled from close range.

After the break, Paul Bough’s 20-yard shot gave Rover the lead with Craig Bloomfield making it 3-1, only for Alan Shadbolt’s header to set up a tense finale.

At the other end of the table, Stonesfield eased their relegation fears with a 4-1 drubbing of fellow-strugglers Marston Saints, thanks to a hat-trick from Nick Clarke.

Paul Knight’s penalty gave Stonesfield the advantage, before a Clarke double saw them take a 3-0 lead.

Although Stuart Wise clawed one back in the second half, Clarke completed his treble to seal the win.

Jack Barrett and James Watkins hit a hat-trick apiece as Enstone thrashed Kennington 7-1 away from home.

Paul Allen was their other marksman, with Ben Quinn netting for Kennington.

Oxford University Press battled back to earn a 1-1 draw at home to Eynsham.

After a goalless first half, OUP’s keeper Rob Hamling saved Jay Baugh’s spot-kick.

But there was nothing Hamling could do when Tom Jerred fired Eynsham ahead.

Dave Carter nicked a point when he lobbed home from 45 yards.

Andrew Paine slammed in the winner as Yarnton battled back to beat Kidlington Old Boys in only their second Division 1 victory of the season.

Tony Cuzio bagged a double as Wheatley won 4-0 against North Oxford.

Ben Curtis and Steve Skyrme were Wheatley’s other marksmen.

Robbie Mcdougall-Davis bagged a brace as Oakley won 2-0 away to Watlington.

In Division 2, Hinksey eased to a 4-0 victory at home to Long Crendon Res.

Jamal Thomas, Liam Gurdev, David Jennings and Marlon James found the back of the net for Hinksey.
