Striker James Faulkner returns from suspension for Oxford City’s trip to face Banbury United in the Oxfordshire Senior Cup semi-final at Spencer Stadium on Tuesday night.

But City will be without defender James Clarke and striker Alex Fisher, who are cup-tied, while frontman Andy Baird is suspended.

Josias Carbon and Lee Rendell are added to the squad.

Player-manager Justin Merritt said it was important his Southern League Premier Division play-off chasers kept up their good run, which continued with a 3-0 win against Brackley Town at the weekend.

“We played very well on Saturday,” he said. “I think our lads were up for it. We didn’t let Brackley get into any sort of rhythm.

“It’s nice to get into a run of good form. We are heavily into our league programme, so we will be a bit thin on the ground.

“But it’s a competition we want to do well in and we will be going all out to win the game and keep the run going.”

Banbury boss Billy Jeffrey wants his team to get back to winning ways following their 3-0 home defeat by Tiverton on Saturday.

Jeffrey, who gave a debut to his new signing from Rugby Town, David Stone, said: “I was very disappointed.

“After the win against Stourbridge it was a bit like after the Lord Mayor’s Show.

“We just went under too easily. When David came on he made a lot of difference and we created four chances, but we could not put them away.

“But they got a third goal and that killed us off.”

Banbury will be without Richard Groves (cup-tied) while Jon Gardner faces a late test on a hamstring injury. Aaron Stringfellow is unavailable.

Didcot Town are without defender Ian Sampson for their trip to Cinderford Town in the British Gas Business Southern League Division 1 South & West after Oxford United recalled him from his loan spell.

Boss Stuart Peace: “I’m not happy about it, but I’m afraid there is nothing we can do.”

They will also be without Andy Parrott (unavailable), though Martin Brown returns.
