Rover Oxford did what they had to in their must-win Women’s Conference West game against St Austell at Iffley Road, beating the Cornish outfit 4-2 in the Slazenger Women's League.
It means Rover find themselves in the play-off positions as they prepare to face Cannock on Saturday.
Rover started strongly against the bottom-of-the-table club, taking the lead through Caro Brebner.
In the following minutes, Rover created plenty of chances with quick stick work from Lorraine Campbell and Emily Court wrong-footing the St Austell defence.
In the 11th minute, some well-worked passing between Becca Demczak and Bex Strange resulted in Strange again finding the corner of the St Austell goal.
A well-worked short corner routine brought St Austell a goal, but Rover soon returned to form and some quick passing allowed Leanne Grimsley to slot home.
An excellent run from Demczak from her own half saw her dribble round the St Austell defence and place the ball in the net.
St Austell netted their second in the dying seconds.
