It was drinks all round at the College Oak as their A team captured the Greene King ODDA Winter LeagueMen’s Section 1 title with a thrilling 5-4 win over Cowley Workers.

But they had to come from 3-0 down after Mo Oliver, Martin Buckland and Des Slezak put the visitors 3-0 ahead.

College Oak rallied as Barry Radford, Wes Topley and Michael Wilkes (180) made it 3-3, and a 2-1 pairs win sealed the match and the championship.

Rose Hill CC took a giant step towards the Section 2 crown with an 8-1 victory over Kidlington Green SC. They lead by eight points with two fixtures remaining.

Butchers Arms are second after a 6-3 win over Three Horseshoes, with Ian Moss, Pete Eagle (180), Alan Cookson and Martin Bull their singles winners.

Railway SC D are runaway winners of Section 3 as they made it 13 victories out of 13 with a 6-3 success over Quarry Gate, while College Oak B, bidding for second place, crashed to a shock 7-2 reverse at Cricketers.

Section 4’s title-decider brought together leaders Red Lion B at home to second-placed Folly Bridge.

The singles ended all square at 3-3 and it was visitors Folly who grabbed the glory with a 2-1 pairs success, to leave them just one point behind with a game in hand.

Section 5 leaders New Club have completed their fixtures and face an anxious wait to see if their seven-point lead will prove enough.

George Bar A have hit top form at the right time, their 6-3 victory over Lord Nuffield taking them to within seven points of the leaders.

Section 6 top dogs Nuffield Lounge B crashed to a 5-4 reverse at Sutton Courtenay FC, allowing second-placed Blackbird Bar to take over top spot by just one point thanks to a 7-2 win at third-placed Mason’s B.

In Section 9, leaders Queens Head made it 12 wins from 13 games as they saw off Catherine Wheel B 6-3, which means they take a four-point lead into their final game.

Prince of Wales took their points tally to an amazing 100 in 13 matches as they defeated Railway C 6-3 for their 13th win in a row to wrap up the Section 10 title.
