Oxford City 3 (Fisher 30, 67, Faulconbridge 54)

Brackley Tn 0

Alex Fisher scored twice to help keep Oxford City’s outside chance of reaching the Premier Division play-offs alive.

Ben Mackey fired Brackley’s first effort past a post, but the visitors were having to defend in depth when City threatened.

Fisher headed wide from an an Andy Ballard throw-in, but the former Oxford United striker made no mistake on the half-hour mark with a near-post header from Mark Bell’s corner.

More was expected from the visitors, but they were being well contained by a determined City side, with goalkeeper Ryan Harrison rarely called into action.

At the start of the second half, a scramble ensued in City's goalmouth, but it failed to bring any rewards for Brackley.

Wayne Blossom cleared a James Clarke cross away for a corner, but after 54 minutes City doubled their advantage when Darren Pond unselfishly set up Craig Faulconbridge to hammer home.

Keeper Tom Willshere was Brackley's saviour when he turned over a point blank header from Faulconbridge for a corner.

However, Willshere was unable to prevent a third City goal in the 67th minute when Bell's free-kick from way out was neatly headed home by Fisher for his second goal of the game.
