Serious doubts have been raised over whether Kettering would be allowed into the play-offs, even if they qualified for them.
The lease of their Rockingham Road ground expires in 2013, with reportedly no prospect of it being extended, and league rules stipulate that clubs need a minimum ten-year lease to remain in the Conference.
However, following negotiations between Kettering chairman Imraan Ladak and Conference officials, it seems likely that the Poppies will be given a 12-month dispensation to carry on, providing they can come up with firm plans for a new ground, which they are working on.
Histon are another club whose ground does not currently meet the necessary criteria.
However, delegates from the Football League passed it fit to play Football League Two football last January, should the Stutes become eligible through promotion – providing certain work was carried out.
