This year’s Gentworks Oxford & District Snooker League's Simonds Cup final will be a repeat of last year’s after Fieldside A and Riley A both eased to semi-final victories.

Fieldside beat Woodstock A 4-0, with each winning player recording respectable breaks.

Karl Walker (71), Mick Bennett (61) and Paul Robinson (35) were all in fine form, with Bennett winning the fourth frame to seal victory.

Riley A also enjoyed a 4-0 success, seeing off Eynsham A.

James Stone, Chris Stoe and Andy MacBryan all won, with Stone sealing win No 4.

New Club B made the final of the Sherlock Cup following a 4-0 win against Riley E.

However, the match was closer than the result suggests, with each of the first three frames decided on the black.

Alan King, Luke Purcell and Paul Moss all won on the black ball, with King’s success against Dave Daley sealing their passage through to the final, where they will meet either Cowley Con C or Cowley Workers A at Witney on Tuesday.

In league action, it was a family affair as Oracle B thumped House Club B 6-0 and leapfrog them into second place in Division 1.

Nino Merola, Pom Merola and Frankie Merola were all in fine form for Oracle.
