Newcomers Riley A have won the Division 1 title.
And a sensational run from CCC B, who won eight of their final ten matches, gave them the Division 2 crown by the narrowest of margins at the expense of Ashton.
Riley ended their season with a 2-1 victory over Ashton, putting them six points clear of nearest rivals Fieldside.
The runners-up still have a game to play – against third-placed New Club – but will not move from their position.
Riley’s success was capped with terrific individual displays from Matthew Challen (+30) and Malcolm Bough (+50) from Riley A, who both won 18 matches and only lost two in the whole season.
The hero for CCC B was 84-year-old Ken Olive.
With their match against HCC A in the balance at 1-1 after Brian Mabbutt’s win was cancelled out by HCC’s Doug Howse, Olive saved the day.
Knowing the title was at stake, he held his nerve to beat John Williams 150-111.
In the other matches, Riley B saw off Fieldside 2-1 thanks to wins from Roger Tomlin and Bob Hayward.
Hayward’s victory over Mike Chapman denied the Fieldside man a share of the top player award – this his third defeat of the campaign.
Eynsham was confirmed as bottom side in Division 2 following their 2-1 defeat against New Club, while Oracle beat Thame by the same score.
RESULTS Ashton 1, Riley A 2; Thame 1, Oracle 2; Eynsham 1, New Club 2; Riley B 2, Fieldside 1; CCC B 2, HCC A 1.
