Abingdon Vale picked up six more golds on the second weekend of the championships.

Harry Basterfield, 11, added to his tally from the previous week with gold in the 50m backstroke and 100m free-style, while Nienke Lijzenga completed a clean sweep of the ten-year breaststroke events by coming first in both 50m and 200m distances.

Imogen West, 16, who set a club record when winning the 200m butterfly, picked up three junior championship runners-up awards.

She came second in the 100m individual medley (1min 10.46secs), 200m butterfly (2.30.93) and the 200m individual medley relay.

Amira Mullaney, 17, set a club record when she took gold in the 200m butterfly.

l CHRIS Aust, of Kidlington & Gosford, added a third gold to his two the previous weekend with a stunning performance in the 50m butterfly.

Aust also gained second place in the 100m freestyle.

Clubmate Sam Fowler was runner-up for the 100m freestyle and 50m backstroke, while Ian Surrage won the 100m breaststroke and was second in the 50m butterfly.

Kidlington’s men’s open 4 x 100m medley team of Johnny Richards, Surrage, Matthew Corbett and Aust came second, as did their freestyle team of Richards, Surrage, Fowler and Aust.

Personal bests were also achieved by Amy Crisp, Hannah Clements, Ellen Fowler and Matthew Keys-Lumley.
