Disabled and wheelchair-bound players can now enjoy the sport at Oxford & District after the club were presented with a bowls buggy.

The buggy was donated by the English Bowling Association’s Charity Trust and honorary president David Bryant was there to hand it over.

The afternoon, which saw the club raise almost £700 for the charity trust, proved a big success and also featured a match between Oxford & District and the charity trust.

Those taking part – including Bryant – represented teams captained by Marion Bushnell for the charity trust and teams from various clubs – including 12 players from Oxford & District – captained by Bob Jack MBE, a trustee of the charity.

Jack, one of the two original founders of the trust, made a special trip from Lancashire to attend the match.
