City of Oxford Swimming Club's Lindsay Powell and Sam van de Schootbrugge have been honoured at a presentation for sporting achievements by the Vale of White Horse District Council at the Guildhall, Abingdon.
Van de Schootbrugge was awarded a certificate by Council chairman of the Alison Rooke for ‘impressive achievements in the sport of swimming and for being an exemplary role model at his club and European School’.
Van de Schootbrugge has been coached to international standard by the club’s chief coach, who was commended for her ‘tireless dedication to coaching in Oxfordshire and Britain’.
