Thame A produced a shock as they opened up an unassailable lead against Division 1 leaders Riley A in the Buildbase Oxford & District Billiards League.

With Riley having only two players available, it was agreed that the third game will be played this weekend, but Thame have already secured victory.

Thame went in front when Tom Fletcher (+80) beat Malcolm Bough (+50) 150-118.

Peter Hawkes (+135) then made it 2-0 with a 150-141 win over Allan Copelin (+90).

Ashton A are now joint leaders in Division 2, after they beat CCC A 3-0.

Keith Maskens (+30) saw off Dick Hashman (scratch) 200-146, and then John Street (+60) beat Arthur Coakley (+90) 150-76.

Terry Chambers (scratch) completed the whitewash in a dramatic 200-198 victory over Terry Cook (+20).

Cook led 198-191, before Chambers got the remaining nine points to seal the win.

Fieldside hit back to beat CCC B 2-1.

Brian Mabbutt (+20) edged out Simon Aries (-60) to put CCC B in front.

Norman Woodcock (+70) levelled with a 150-94 win against Ken Olive (+70).

Mike Chapman (+90) then saw off John Simpson (+30) 200-143 to seal victory.
