Rob Barker’s conversion earned Abingdon an unlikely 21-20 victory at Harwell in the BB&O Premier Division.
Harwell looked in control when they led 20-8 with 20 minutes to go, but they could not hold on.
The hosts led 13-8 at half time, thanks to a try from captain Andy Lee, plus a conversion and two penalties from Ryan Hodnett.
Abingdon’s scores were a Vince Barnes try, and a penalty from Barker.
Another try from Lee, converted by Hodnett seemed to put Harwell in control, but they spurned other chances.
Abingdon took full advantage, adding two penalties from Barker, and a try under the posts from wing Rob Tyreman, which Barker converted to complete the comeback.
Hapless Wheatley conceded their eighth walkover of the season – this time to Gosford All Blacks.
