Rover Oxford slipped to a disappointing 1-0 defeat at home to Swansea in Slazenger England League Women’s West Conference.

Swansea broke the deadlock early in the second half, scoring from one of their many penalty corners..

Oxford Hawks’ fading hopes of promotion from Division 1 of the South Clubs’ League were finally extinguished by a 2-0 home defeat against Southampton.

Ali Omell and Amy Bryant made some good breaks down the flanks for the home side, but chances were few.

Southampton converted their first short corner.

And as Hawks pushed forward, they were punished with five minutes to go.

City of Oxford stay top of Division 3A after a 3-2 derby win over Oxford Hawks 2nd. Hawks took the lead through Kelly Fogden, and Rachel Lammey equalised for City from a short corner.

Hawks regained the lead when Heather Miller released the ball to Izzy Landon, whose pass was converted by Tori Clark on the far post.

City came back strongly, with Lise Scragg deflecting in a short corner.

And ten minutes from time, after good work from Vicky Quantrell, Ann-Marie Davenport turned in the winner.

Two goals from Sadie Lapper helped West Witney overcome Southgate 2nd 4-3.

Joy Mangazi and Becky Dean scored Witney’s other goals.

Banbury had a disappointing weekend, picking up only one point in two home games, after leading in both.

They drew 4-4 with Wyc-ombe, having been 3-0 and 4-2 up. Natasha Nunneley (2), Lara Wilkinson and Nicola Patrick were on target.

And on Sunday, they lost 4-3 to Staines 2nd, Nicole Patrick 92) and Nunneley scoring.

Wallingford are joint top of Premier 1 of the Trysports 3 Counties League after successive 6-2 wins against Maidenhead and Slough 2nd.

Against Maidenhead, their goals came from Jess Bryson (2), Heather Meryweather, Emma McDermott, Jude Turner and Tazz Mottram.

The same five players scored against Slough, with Turner this time getting the double.
