AFC Totton 3 (Osman 1, Robinson pen 21, Taylor 90)

Didcot Tn 1 (John 82)

Under-strength Didcot were easily beaten by title-chasing Totton in Division 1 South & West.

Didcot’s chances of getting something out of the game looked extremely remote within 15 seconds.

Without a visiting player touching the ball, Totton’s Mark Osman was able to side-foot home past the stranded Michael Watkins.

And only a mixture of good fortune, and desperate defending, prevented the home side from scoring a hatful in the first 20 minutes.

Didcot were then unlucky to concede a penalty. Taylor’s cross hit Martin Brown high on the shoulder.

Brown was booked for his protests and ex-Oxford United star Matt Robinson fired home from the spot.

Didcot started to create chances. Elliott Osborne-Ricketts had a free-kick deflected over and Neville Roach headed over.

In the second half Totton’s Jonathan Davies forced Watkins into a stunning save.

Didcot at last managed to score when Philip John netted via the far post.

But Totton made the game safe deep into stoppage time when Jack King’s wayward pass fell to Davies who set up Taylor.
