Chinnor coach Jason Bowers says they will not go all defensive for tomorrow’s visit of free-scoring Ealing in National 3 South.

Second-placed Ealing have racked up 656 points so far, with wing David Howells scoring an incredible 32 tries.

But Chinnor enter the match buoyed by last week’s unexpected 19-15 victory at Dings Crusaders.

Bowers said: “You can predict how a team will play, but you can’t manage it.

“We’ll just play our own game and try to force them to defend more than we do.

“We are feeling confident and looking forward to Ealing, but we are also focused on our remaining games.”

Prop Bob Baker and hooker Arthur Ellis return after England Under 20 duty, while wing James Serrano is also back in the squad.

“We have a few bumps and bruises after the Dings game,” said Bowers.

“Fingers crossed we’ll be able to go out with a stronger side than we have done in recent weeks.

“After a run of three poor results, beating Dings was a massive bonus for us and a timely injection of form.”

Henley Hawks hope to have James Gaunt, Neil Baggett, Danny Wells (kidney infection) and Tom Haynes available for their home clash with basement boys Havant.

They are still without wing Dave Birtwhistle, but on-loan hooker James Clark returns.

Director of rugby Jason Forster said: “We have some very hard work to do to secure victories over the next three weeks against sides just below us in the league.”

Academy prop Matt Edney, son of assistant coach Tony, is on the bench as Oxford Harlequins host Redingensians in South West 1.

Quins coach John Brodley said: “This demonstrates our policy in bringing young players through the ranks, and giving them the opportunity of expressing themselves at the highest level.”

Nick Sevier moves to centre alongside Shaunn Lombard, with Tim Lawson coming in on the wing.

Cameron Gray returns at lock after a leg infection, with Ed Davies moving to flanker in place of Ben Nicholl.

Tom Rowberry comes in at flanker as Wallingford host Olney in South West 2 East.

Derek Viljoen and Jackson Sayce return at half back, with Angus Brettell starting at full back in place of the injured Henry Venners.

Coach Chris Norrington said: “I don’t want to put too much pressure on them, but it is a bit of a must-win game.

“We’ve got to win our home games and pick up some of the away ones.”

Scrum half Gareth Campbell returns after illness for Witney’s trip to Slough in Southern Counties North.

Ed Mitchem starts on the wing after impressing in the Oxfordshire Cup win at Wallingford, but lock Charlie Bennett misses out.

Prop Mark Serle returns to the bench alongside Will Hook and James Monks.
